Held each spring, the annual Awards Celebration is a unique opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to Pawtucket. The recipients embody civic leadership and entrepreneurship representative of the Pawtucket Foundation's core values: collaboration, vision, sustainability, quality of place and excellence.
Over the years, the Celebration has grown to become Pawtucket's premier business event, with over 400 business, nonprofit and government leaders in attendance annually. In addition to honoring the awards recipients, the Pawtucket Foundation makes use of the opportunity to celebrate organizational accomplishments and showcase upcoming projects.

2016 Honorees:PERSON OF THE YEAR: Michael Horan, Esq.
The Person of the Year award recognizes a person who significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of economic and community life in Pawtucket. The 2016 Person of the Year is someone who is native to Pawtucket and a long-time board member of the Pawtucket Foundation. An esteemed legal consul, Mr. Horan can be found working hard behind the scenes and with city leaders to make Pawtucket a better place.HERITAGE AWARD: Gary Furtado & Navigant Credit UnionThe Heritage Award recognizes an outstanding long-term commitment to the City of Pawtucket and its residents. Mr. Furtado has been at the helm of Navigant Credit Union, leading a company that has been providing service for over 100 years in the Blackstone Valley area. It is this company's passion to provide excellent service and invest in the communities they serve. SPECIAL DISTINCTION: Pamela HughesThe Special Distinction Award honors outstanding contributions in a particular aspect of the Community. This year the Pawtucket Foundation recognizes an individual that is a leader in helping to revitalize downtown Pawtucket. Ms. Hughes is a true leader in helping to revitalize downtown Pawtucket. Her commitment to the Armory Arts District and her leadership on many projects in Pawtucket deserve special recognition. Her work inspires volunteers and the community to celebrate what makes downtown Pawtucket unique.
